The other thing I love about living here is that for a few weeks every winter the bald eagles fly through here during their migration. It is amazing. We have hundreds of bald eagles, they are so beautiful! Their "stop" is only about two miles from my front door. I took the girls out to see the pelicans and eagles. We ended up staying for two hours just watching the birds it was so much fun! As you know, I am usually all about industry and was a supporter of Legacy (down with the special insects in the wetlands---I need a road!) But every now and then the "nature-lover" in me comes out . . . I think living here does it to me.
Here are some of the pelicans. The pictures are not doing the experience justice, but oh well.
Aubrey and Hailey watching the birds. I'm so glad they get to grow up with these experiences.

I sure wish I could get Hubs to move me to "where you live"...he has issues with the "west side", but I'm slowly chipping away at those issues so maybe there's hope for us to be neighbors again some day.
I love it here too! I think we have the best of both worlds. We live in a great neighborhood, and are close to everything...but we still have a lot of open space around us. And seriously, where else would you get such great neighbors?!?
Those pictures are amazing and what fun for your girls. I love the west side, too :-) I think I'll stay awhile.
What a good mom- bird watching. Was I cleaning or something?
Mike went out and got some great shots as well. It's a fun little outing.
Hey will you remove our last name from your list, I don't want any extra info on us out there. Thanks
Wow, that looks so fun! I love birds :)
Hey Kristy, I think you're an awesome mother to take your kids bird watching. We have a ton of trees in our back yard and so I love watching the birds with the kids. You asked for my blog ppdavis.blogspot.com.
What a fun idea to take your kids bird watching! It's a fun activity AND educational. Two birds with one stone! HA! I made a pun. Okay, sorry. Seriously though, loved your pictures. I never thought we'd be over on the "west side" either but I LOVE it too.
